I am a big believer in the power of music. I believe it can heal in every way. Check out this video to watch Henry, a previously introverted man in a nursing home, come to life through music. Some may say it’s magical. But I say it’s better than that. It’s real.
I have, sometime in the past, seen other studies done with music and the same result. It’s interesting that it doesn’t catch on more prominently.
I know! It is one of the most amazing phenomena and yet it still seems to be under the radar of most people. Thanks so much for checking it out and commenting! 🙂
I agree. One of the reasons I listen to big band and celtic music so much is the calming effect it has on my mind.
That’s awesome! So happy to hear that music helps you out!
Amazing clip. I agree about the power of music too.
So happy to hear it 🙂 Thanks for checking it out!
Seen it before, but definitely worth watching again. Good video, as always!
I saw it last semester in my Intro to Music Therapy class and it really resonated with me. Someone said it was on the news. Is that where you saw it? Happy to hear you liked it!
This is a great video. I remember when I first left college and entered corporate America, feeling like my life had gone horribly wrong somewhere, I found great solace in music. I expanded outside of my former tastes, and discovered great bands like “Sunset Rubdown” and “Okkervil River.”
P.S. I mentioned those bands by name so you, or anyone else reading this, could try them out. The more people I can get listening to them, the more I have in common with them, and the more we can all share 🙂
I’m so glad you provided the band names; I’m going to check them out for sure! Music has always helped me throughout my life-the good and bad times- so I love to hear that other people have had a similar relationship to music!
Wow!
Haha! Thanks for checking it out! It’s amazing, isn’t it?
